Murry Kinard

Biography

Murry Kinard is a lifelong Lexington native and a proud 1986 graduate of Lexington High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Lander College in 1990, where he not only played basketball but also served as Student Body Vice President during his senior year. He went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993.

After law school, Murry clerked for the Honorable Thomas L. Hughston in Greenwood, South Carolina. He later returned to Lexington, becoming a partner with Walker, Morgan, and Kinard. In 2004, Murry opened his own firm and has run and managed other firms before ultimately founding The Kinard Law Group. With over 30 years of experience, Murry has built his career on serving clients with compassion and dedication. His practice spans domestic, civil, and criminal litigation, and he also serves as a mediator.

Outside the courtroom, Murry treasures time with his wife, Amy, and their three children. The Kinards can often be found cheering on their favorite teams or enjoying the water together on Lake Murray. Family is at the heart of everything Murry does. He is incredibly proud of his children’s accomplishments: Harrison is an attorney clerking for the Honorable William P. Keesley, Bryce graduated from Medical University of South Carolina’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program and works at MUSC, and Ellie graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Nutrition Science with plans to attend Physical Therapy school next year.

For Murry, the law is not just about cases and courts—it’s about people, families, and the community he calls home.
